Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes Jose Mourinho has plans to humiliate him at Old Trafford.
The World Cup winner was dropped by manager Mourinho for last two United games including their 4-1 win over Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The former Juventus midfielder is expected to return to Mourinho’s squad during Wednesday’s final Champions League group game against Valencia.
The former Chelsea manager has been open on Pogba’s current performance insisting the France international needs to prove himself in the Group H clash at Mestalla Stadium.
Mourinho said: “He has the potential to be a fantastic player. He has to play with the same mentality as the team is playing.
“Against Valencia, he is going to start and he is going to have a fantastic game and to show everyone how good he is.”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is convinced the Portuguese boss is using him as a scapegoat for the team’s poor season.
A club source said: “Paul is confused because he’s not the only one to have struggled to produce his best in recent weeks.”
“But he feels like he’s been singled out for special treatment and been made an example of.”
“It’s all a bit humiliating considering his status in the game.”
