Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Alexis Sanchez is one of three Red Devils players he cannot defend anymore.
The Chile international signed from Arsenal in January in a swap deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates Stadium.
Since then, the 30-year-old, who is currently the United’s top earner with £350,000-a-week, has found the net just three times.
When asked to make a comment on three United players’ performances – Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez, Neville said: “(Anthony) Martial? No. I don’t see him playing well that often to be honest with you.”
“Marcus Rashford’s not taken his chance. (Alexis) Sanchez, every time he plays I can’t think of the player I’m watching.”
The former Red Devils skipper added: “It’s too easy. The minority of fans in clubs will be asking for the manager’s head after a few bad results and it’s often they speak the loudest.”
“The track record that Jose has holds up. After three games, you don’t talk about sacking the manager, you encourage and back him.”
United will travel to Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon to take on Burnley with Jose Mourinho looking to bounce back following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham on Monday night.
