Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has claimed that the Red Devils would have sold Paul Pogba in this coming January if Jose Mourinho had stayed.
Mourinho was sacked by United last week following a run of poor results this season and falling out with some big players.

The Portuguese boss has seriously fallen out with French midfielder Pogba with winter signing Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Antonio Valencia were all marginalized.
Therefore, due to their poor relationship, United legend Neville thinks the World Cup winner would have been sold by the club had Mourinho not gone.
Discussing Pogba’s two-goal showing in the 3-1 win over Huddersfield on Boxing Day at Old Trafford, host Gary Lineker said about the Frenchman: “They’d have probably lost him.”

Neville agreed and said: “I think they would have. The relationship was gone. The last couple of games he’s been fantastic.”
“What we’ve seen for six months, and what we’ve seen in the last couple of games, is the culture was beginning to be damaged.”
“You play for Manchester United, you’re taught about freedom of expression and exciting football. Go out there and score goals, play attacking football, go out and play with a smile on your face.”
“It starts with the manager. Ole over the last couple of games has been really happy and saying the right things.”
“The centre-backs played with trust from the manager to play out the back, they had the confidence to drive into midfield.”
Neville was full of praise for former Juventus midfielder Pogba and the England Women national team manager has crowned him as the best midfielder in Europe.

“They had the best player on the pitch, the best midfield player in Europe on his day in Paul Pogba who has had a really disappointing, horrendous last 18 months at the club because of the fallout with the manager,” Neville added.
“But the shackles were off playing with the freedom, the expression and the anything is a possible attitude. They played with arrogance and Pogba’s passing was back to its best.”
“He’s the best player in the club for me, Paul Pogba, and he should be a 12 to 15-goal-a-season person. He hasn’t been that in his career so far.”
