Manchester United and Argentina defender Marcos Rojo has claimed that the World Cup begins now for the South American side.

The Albiceleste had collected only one point in their two games in Group D but they finally managed to beat Nigeria 2-1 in their last game.

Red Devils star Rojo has scored the winner on the 86th minute which qualified Jorge Sampaoli side for the knockout stages.

β€œWe needed it. Now the cup begins for us,” Rojo told reporters following the dramatic 2-1 win in Saint Petersburg.

β€œLionel Messi had told the guys he was going to score a goal more than ever. The goal is for my family and for this group that deserves it. Let’s go Argentina!”

Argentina, who finished second in the group, will automatically face France in the last-16 stage on Saturday afternoon at Kazan Arena.
