Chelsea will need to consult Arsenal on matters Europa League. The focus now shifts to FA Cup final between the Red Devils and Blues and of course UEFA Champions League final. Today, we focus on the best partnerships in the just-concluded season. We take a look at five deadliest in front of goal.
5. Martial- Lukaku Partnership- 6 Goals
Manchester United enjoyed their best season since 2012/13 season when Sir Alex Ferguson helped them win the League in his final year. Jose Mourinho has done a great job but his forward players did very well too. Romelu Lukaku scored 27 goals in his debut season after the big money move from Everton last summer.
In Premier League alone, the Belgian netted 16 goals in 34 matches. Anthony Martial assisted 3 of those goals and the big striker returned the favor in equal measure to make it 6 goals between the two attackers. Other partnerships with six goals between them include Harry Kane- Son Heung-min partnership at Tottenham and Manuel Lanzini- Marko Arnautovic partnership at West Ham.
4. Salah- Firmino Partnership- 7 Goals
Sadio Mane assisted 6 goals scored by Mohamed Salah last season. The Egyptian also assisted 4 goals scored by the main striker Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian also helped the former AS Roma winger score 3 goals to make 7 goals between the two. This means the three attackers are helping each other but the partnership between the later is producing more equal fruits.
3. Mane-Salah Partnership- 7 Goals
Premier League Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah has taken all the headlines this year in particular. The Egyptian has also picked all awards but he needs to thank the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. The two have been crucial to his success this season and the numbers don’t lie. Mane, in particular, assisted Salah 6 goals. The former Chelsea winger has in return only assisted one goal scored by the Senegalese. The total is 7 goals between the two forwards.
