France is the Champion of FIFA World Cup 2018. Le Bleus thrashed Croatia 4-2 to lift the coveted crown for the second time in their history. The winning goals came from Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe after Antoine Griezmann penalty gave them a 2-1 lead. Mario Mandzukic scored in both ends after a very unfortunate own goal early on to put his opponents ahead. It is the reason why we want to look at six clubs who came out on top in terms of total goals netted by their players in the tournament.

6. Atlético Madrid- 8 Goals

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann is a World Champion. The forward netted the controversial penalty awarded to his country after an extensive review by the referee and Video Assistant referee. The goal was crucial for his country because Croatia was threatening to take the lead. The goal took his tally in the tournament to four goals. Spain striker Diego Costa scored three but his country was knocked out by hosts Russia in the round of 16. Uruguay defender Jose Gimenez only goal came in the opening match against Egypt.

5. Juventus- 8 Goals

Croatia semi-final hero Mario Mandzukic did not start the final in the way he could’ve dreamt of. This is because his own goal helped France get a perfect start early on in the first half. His side was back on level terms thanks to a great goal by Ivan Perisic but they were always on the back foot. A rare Hugo Lloris mistake gave him a chance to score on the other hand but the game was gone by then. His club Juventus will not complain so much because he contributed the biggest share of 8 goals their players scored in Russia finals.

4. Manchester United- 8 Goals

Manchester United all-time most expensive player Paul Pogba is now a world champion. The French midfielder was unstoppable in the final against Croatia. He worked hard to win the ball back for his team and scored the important third goal to kill off the game. He was the only red devil’s star in the final. Red Devil stars netted a total of 8 goals in the tournament. Romelu Lukaku got the lions share with 4 goals, others goals scorers include; Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Marcos Rojo.
