Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has ruled out talk of his potential return to Real Madrid insisting that he wants to see out his current contract at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese boss’ future at the North West side has been uncertain this season due to his side’s poor performance.
And now current reports suggest that the former Chelsea boss is likely to make a shock return to Real Madrid with Julen Lopetegui future at Santiago Bernabeu is now doubtful.
The 55-year-old has been at Madrid between 2010 and 2013 before returning to Premier League side Chelsea.
Mourinho, whose current contract at United runs until 2020, has dropped a hint that he wants a contract extension with the Red Devils.
Asked if he is set to make Real Madrid return in the near future, Mourinho replied: “No, I am happy here. I am happy here.”
“I am happy to see out my contract to the very last day of that contract and I would like to stay after my contract runs out as well.”
“All I am thinking about at the moment is Manchester United.”
Mourinho was also asked to make a comment on Tuesday’s Champions League showdown with Juventus at Old Trafford with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.
“I thought Cristiano is in a level where he doesn’t need these questions and these answers,” Mourinho said.
“He is one of the best players of all time and nobody can tell different than that. He’s one of the best players of all time. It’s as simple as that.”
