Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has praised new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri insisting that he has been impressed by the Blues’ head coach.

Sarri, who took over at Stamford Bridge last month following Antonio Conte exit, joined from Italian side Napoli following a two-year spell at Stadio San Paolo.

Mourinho has been at Inter Milan between 2008 and 2010 but Sarri was still at the low level of his managerial career.

Asked about Sarri’s arrival in the Premier League, former Chelsea boss Mourinho told beIN SPORTS: “When I was in Italy from 2008 to 2010, he was not in Serie A. I never met him or played against him.”

“I just follow football and lately the good work he did with Napoli.”

“In England, all the good managers have the desire to come. It’s a crazy competition with a high level so I think every manager has the dream to come so he had the chance to come.”

“He has a fantastic team, fantastic players and squad – I think he has conditions to do good work.”

Sarri, who joined Napoli as head coach in 2015 from Empoli, will play against Mourinho side in on 20 October at Stamford Bridge.
