Real Madrid decision to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus came as a surprise to many people. This transfer was not foreseen because such kind of rumors linking him to different clubs is always there every time the transfer window opens. It is done now and the question is who will replace him at Santiago Bernabeu if that is even possible. In 9 years, he netted 450 goals in 438 matches. This means he scored an average of 50 goals per season. None of the stars below have shown they are capable of delivering such numbers but they can get better. Today, we want to look at five stars capable of replacing Ronaldo at Real Madrid this summer.
5. Paulo Dybala- Juventus
Paulo Dybala has to relinquish the main star role at Juventus because the king has arrived. Cristiano Ronaldo arrival means he will take over all penalties and free-kicks. This might not be the best environment for the Argentine to grow. Real Madrid might be looking to sign him this summer to replace CR7 at Madrid.
The 24-year-old fits the bill because he can deliver flair and goals. He has netted 68 goals in only 140 appearances since he arrived from Palermo three years ago. The only challenge he has is his failure to shine in big games. Last season he was sent off after struggling against CR7 in UEFA Champions League. He has also failed to get a regular playtime with his national team. In 2018 World Cup in Russia, he played only 22 minutes. The good news is that he is only 24, this means he can grow.
4. Eden Hazard- Chelsea
Eden Hazard is the most likely player set to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid this summer. The Chelsea star has been on the market for a couple of years now. He may not deliver many goals like CR7 but he will deliver creativity, assists, and flair. The Belgian thrives when playing other prolific players and this means he will do the job alone. This means Los Blancos must still sign a top striker to take the goals burden. In 300 appearances for the Blues, he has netted only 89 goals in all competitions. The playmaker might also be the cheapest out there at the moment for Florentino Perez.
3. Harry Kane- Tottenham
World Cup 2018 Golden Boot favorite Harry Kane has become a goal machine in the last few years. The English Captain has scored six times so far to help his country reach the semi-finals. He will try to go one step further and reach the final if his side defeat Croatia on Wednesday night. Romelu Lukak was the closest challenger with 4 goals, but Belgium was eliminated by France on Tuesday night.
Tottenham Hotspurs chairman Daniel Levy will be smiling now because Real Madrid might be forced to pay him a record fee to sign Kane to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. The deal will be tough to pull off because the striker signed a new 6-year contract extension just before the World Cup started. He can deliver the goals seriously needed by Los Blancos. The 24-year-old has netted 140 goals in his last four seasons. Last season he netted 41 goals in 48 matches in all competitions.
