European Leagues are slowly coming to an end. We know the champions of four out of five Leagues so far. Italian Serie A is still alive but Juventus look like they will lift their sixth consecutive title in the next couple of weeks. UEFA Champions League will move to the semi-final stage next week after a dramatic quarter-final period. The year 2018 has entertained so far and the fans will hope for more as we get closer to the World Cup. Today, we want to look at most prolific stars in Europe top five leagues in 2018 alone.
5. Luis Suarez- 13 Goals in 14 Matches
Barcelona forward Luis Suarez had a poor start to the new season but he later picked up in November. In 2018 alone, he has found the net 13 times in only 14 matches. The numbers were enough to secure the La Liga title but UEFA Champions League needed more. They will need to do better in Europe next season.
4. Mohamed Salah- 13 Goals in 11 Matches
A new star has been born in Liverpool and his name is Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has enjoyed a great season both in Premier League and Europe. He has netted 40 goals in 45 matches in all competitions so far this season. In 2018 alone, he has scored 13 goals in only 11 matches. If he helps the Merseyside giant lift UEFA Champions League, the Ballon d’Or will head to Anfield this year.
3. Lionel Messi- 14 Goals in 15 Matches
Barcelona star Lionel Messi could not help his club go past AS Roma in UEFA Champions League once again this year. It was an embarrassing defeat in Rome. The Argentine has enjoyed a good run in front of goal since January but he did not score in both legs. The five times World player of the year has scored 14 goals in only 15 matches so far in 2018 alone.
