Tottenham and France captain Hugo Lloris has claimed that midfielder Paul Pogba has to show his leadership standards for France at World Cup in Russia.

Pogba has been considered as one of the best midfielders in the world football during his time at Juventus.

But since he re-joined Manchester United, the 26-year-old has failed to make his mark under Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho.

However, Lloris has urged his countryman to prove his doubters wrong in this summer’s World Cup which will take place in Russia.

Lloris told reporters: “Paul is no longer a young player, he has collected experience with his club and with the national team.”

“He has a lot of talent and that label has stuck with him since the beginning. He has had a very good season, although people still debate it. As a football player and as a football fan, I think he had a very good season.”

“He has this desire to shine with the French national team. Will he be the ‘boss’? That’s a strong word but a ‘leader’ is what is expected of him on and off the field.”

Pogba, who has been playing for France national team since 2013, has managed 9 goals in 52 caps for the Tri-colours.
