Football fans judge goalkeepers harshly when they concede goals even though sometimes it’s a collective mistake. However, there are some shot-stoppers that tarnish the names of others. Some start their careers well and end badly like former Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia while others start slowly but finish as world beaters like Edwin Van Der Sar. Today, we want to see where Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius ranks in the list of six worst ever keepers in recent Premier League history.

6. Andy Dibble-Manchester City

Goalkeepers normally don’t change clubs as quickly as outfield players. However former Welsh shots stopper was an exception. He played for 18 different clubs in his career but only managed 400 games for all those teams. His longest spell came at Manchester City.

5. Heurelho Gomes- Watford

Heurelho Gomes was once the number one keeper for Tottenham Hotspurs. The then manager Harry Redknapp picked him up in Netherland and for some time he showed signs of brilliance. However, Didier Drogba and few other strikers exposed him badly. He conceded some of the worst goals in Spurs history. The arrival of Brad Friedel ended his Premier League career but luckily got a lifeline at Watford that time to play in the championship.

4. Massimo Taibi-Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson signed many players who became stars in Manchester United but also some few flops that am sure he regrets even today. Take for example Bebe and Orbatan. However, when it comes to goalkeepers Massimo Taibi stands out.

The man will only cost $9 million a fair price for a keeper who was seen as a possible successor to Fabian Barthez who somehow missed my list. What happened after that made Ferguson go for Tim Howard in less than 6 Months later. He was mediocre, to say the least. He is however still a household name in the red end of Manchester because of one particular moment that nailed his coffin at Old Trafford.

Southampton had visited the Red Devils and Taibi was the man between the posts for the home team. Matt Le Tissier baby shot towards the goal went past Massimo’s hands in a snail speed much to the amazement of everybody in 75,000 seater Old Trafford. The saying “my granny could have saved that” started there for those whose didn’t know.
