Harry Maguire has admitted that Manchester United were authentically interested in him during the summer transfer window.
The England international has been strongly linked Old Trafford move following his performance in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
United, who failed to sign a centre-back this summer, have reportedly tabled £75 million for the former Hull City defender.
However, the 25-year-old has claimed that the interest was so genuine but the Foxes denied him a move for any price.
“No, there was obviously a little bit of interest like you’ve probably all seen,” Maguire told Match of the Day.
“The owners spoke with me and reiterated that I wasn’t for sale at any price.
“I respected their decision, they’re the ones that gave me the chance to come to Leicester and play for such a great club.”
“So I respect that decision and I just want to get my head down and I’m ready to play the season for Leicester.”
Maguire, who netted a stoppage-time winner in Leicester’s 2-1 triumph at Southampton on Saturday, joined the King Power side only last summer from Hull City on a £17m deal.
Jose Mourinho side have also been linked with Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, former Barcelona star Yerry Mina, Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin.
