The former United striker has managed to win his first seven games in charge bringing back the hopes of a top-four finish.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are still looking for a manager who will take over at Old Trafford on the permanent basis in the summer.
However, former United captain Neville believes Solskjaer is qualified to get the full-time job.
Neville said: “Ole has done an incredible job at Manchester United over the last six weeks – far better than I could have imagined. Tottenham was a huge game and are a huge team who we’ve all loved watching.”
“But in that first half, he changed to a diamond and changed the shape. He was bold and took risks and it paid off – that’s what Manchester United is about and he’s delivered brilliantly.”
“Let’s judge it [who should get the full-time United job] at the end of the season – he would want that. The idea that it’s an audition every week for him to get the job is wrong.”
“Personally, I hope he gets the job but from a fan perspective I want Manchester United to appoint the very best person for the job – that could be Ole at the end of the season if he continues to do what he’s doing now.”
