Brazil manager Tite has claimed that if he’s a club manager he would wish to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

The 57-year-old has admitted that he is not surprised to see Manchester United plotting the Brazilian midfielder.

The 25-year-old is set to undergo United medical at Carrington on this Monday and the Red Devils are ready to complete a £52m deal.

“When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team,” Tite told reporters.

“If I was a manager I’d ask to sign him as well.”

Fred was previously linked with Manchester City but Pep Guardiola’s side have recently withdrawn their candidate from the race.

The former Internacional ace has started on the bench during his side’s 2-0 friendly win over Croatia at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, Fred, who scored 4 times in 37 appearances for Shakhtar this season, is expected to be part of Brazil’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
