Brazil and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred has told Manchester United to wait for his decision on his future after the 2018 World Cup.
The 25-year-old has strongly been linked with both Manchester clubs but United are said to have offered a bid that pleased Shakhtar.
Jose Mourinho’s side, who are looking to replace retired Michael Carrick, are reportedly ready to pay £52.5m for the Brazilian’s signature.
However, Fred has told all suitors that he would not sign for a new club before the campaign of the World Cup in Russia.
“Maybe after the World Cup I will make the choice,” Fred said.
“Now I am only thinking about the World Cup.”
Fred, who is part of Brazil squad for the World Cup, has made 7 appearances for his national team since 2014.
The central midfielder has insisted that he wants to be fully focused on helping his country reach the World Cup final this summer.
