Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign David de Gea for next season, according to Don Balon.

De Gea finally off from Old Trafford

De Gea has been a long-standing target for Real Madrid and he came very close to joining the La Liga giants in the summer of 2015 but was denied by a faulty fax machine. Jose Mourinho has so far held firm and is adamant De Gea isn’t leaving.

But according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Real president Florentino Perez has an unshakeable belief that a deal will be struck. The Blancos will pay €100 million for the Spanish goalkeeper, who they’ve been trying to land for several years.

De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes has spent weeks negotiating a deal that would allow the Spaniard to leave Old Trafford, and a breakthrough has apparently now been reached.

Zidane has already hinted that he could bring in a new goalkeeper as he said: “At the time there was no need to sign a goalkeeper. We have three and we are happy with the three goalkeepers. For the future, it will be spoken after the season.”
