Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has openly told Eden Hazard that he should leave the club if he wants to go.

Hazard has been strongly linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge since last summer with Real Madrid expressed interest.

The Belgium international has made no secret of his desire to play for the Spanish giants after World Cup in Russia.

Blues manager Sarri has made it clear that he wants his great players to remain at the club including Hazard and youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.

However, the Italian boss has apparently hinted he has given up on Hazard’s situation.

The former Napoli boss said of Hazard: “The situation of Eden is different. Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go.”

“Of course, I hope the opposite. I hope he wants to stay here.”

“He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.”

“Sometimes he’s happy with something less. It’s my job to improve him and put him in a position to do his best.”

According to football finance boffin Kieran Maguire, Hazard could be replaced by one of these two Barcelona stars either Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele.

Maguire has told Starsport: “I think they need a dynamic attacking midfielder. Perhaps they’d be looking at Coutinho or Dembele of Barcelona. Both of them have the ability to not only score but create goals.

“Outside of Ronaldo and Messi, Hazard is that next level of elite player. So you have to replace him with someone [like Coutinho and Dembele] of the same standard.”
