Chelsea may have lost to Wolverhampton and Tottenham, but they are also the only team to have beaten Manchester City in the Premier League. With a new attacking and free-flowing style of football under Sarri, the team is bound to take some time, before they can compete for the title. While players like Eden Hazard and Willian will cherish the attacking football, there are few players who have fallen out of favour at Chelsea. Down are some players Chelsea should sell in January.

3. Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill might be the captain of the team, but he cannot lead the team out unless he plays. With David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Ethan Ampadu for competition Cahill’s days at Chelsea are limited. He may have had more opportunities if Chelsea played three at the back but that is not a possibility as long as Sarri is in charge.

Cahill has also lost a considerable amount of pace which makes him a liability for the type of football which Sarri is trying to implement. At 32, he is not getting any younger and ball distribution has never been his forte. He isn’t a good fit for Sarri.

2. Victor Moses

Moses is one of the players who lost his spot in the team due to a change in the system. Moses is not as good as Willian or Pedro when it comes to playing as a right winger and he is definitely not replacing Hazard on the left wing.

At right-back, he will have to replace Cesar Azpilicueta or Zappacosta which also is unlikely. Added to that Calum Hudson Odoi is knocking on the door for playing time. With so much competition Moses will find it hard to even get a few minutes under his belt.

1. Danny Drinkwater

Drinkwater is a good player but he has no chance of finding a place in this Chelsea squad. If he was to try he would have to compete with Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Cesc Fabregas, Jorginho and Ngolo Kante. With so many players for only 1 position (considering the fact that Kante and Jorginho are irreplaceable), Drinkwater is not going to get any playing time.

He is not as fast or skilled as Kovacic, Loftus Cheek and Barkley and he isn’t as industrious as Kante. While he may be more athletic than Jorginho and Fabregas he does not possess their vision and passing ability.
