Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has told Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to get angry for France at the World Cup this summer.

Pogba has been one of the best players in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as the former Juventus star was named the FIFA’s Best Young Player of the tournament.

However, the 25-year-old has been out of form during the 2017-18 season and was criticised by football pundits and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Petit, who won the 1998 World Cup with the Blues, believes that Pogba is capable to perform better when he is under pressure.

“We all know Pogba has great potential but I want to see the same Pogba I saw against Manchester City when United won 3-2,” Petit told Paddy Power.

“I want to see that Pogba, with the mindset that he is against the world, when he has no option but to show to the rest of the world that he has the potential to be one of the best in his position.”

“He thrives on anger sometimes and I want that Pogba. I wish we could have Pogba like this every game. Every time he is angry, every time he has this anger inside of him and he wants to show people are wrong, I know I want this guy.”

France will be alongside Australia, Peru and Denmark as they will play their World Cup opener against the prior on June 16.
