Real Madrid have completed the signing promising midfielder Ayoub Abou on a free transfer from La Liga rivals Getafe.

The Moroccan midfielder, who joined Getafe only last month from Rayo Majadahonda, started his career at Barcelona youth system in 2013.

The 20-year-old’s representatives Media BaseSports have made it clear that Abou will immediately join Madrid’s reserve team, Castilla.

A statement read: “Ayoub Abou, new player of Real Madrid Castilla. The midfielder has rescinded his current contract with Getafe CF and has reached an agreement with the white club for the next four seasons. Luck and success!”

Since Julen Lopetegui took over at Santiago Bernabeu this summer, the European champions have been slow on the transfer market.

Abou has now become Real’s fourth young signing after Vinicius Jr, Álvaro Odriozola and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Abou, who played scored two goals in 35 appearances for Spanish second-tier club Rayo Majadahonda, has also been at FC Porto between 2015 and 2017.
