Liverpool has confirmed that a transfer deal has been agreed for midfielder Jordan Williams to join League One side Rochdale this summer.

Williams, whose contract with the Reds ran out at the end of the 2017-18 season, has signed a two-year contract with Rochdale.

The 22-year-old was promoted to Liverpool senior team in 2014 but has failed to make his mark as he only managed one appearance.

The Welshman has been sent out on loan for several times as he played for Notts County, Swindon Town and Rochdale.

Williams has spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Spotland Stadium making 8 appearances in all competitions for The Dale.

“I feel as though I’ve got unfinished business here,” Williams told Rochdale’s official website.

“I had interest from elsewhere, but as soon as Keith Hill got on the phone to me, there was no other club that I wanted to go to.”

“It’s a brilliant move for me – I know the Gaffer well and I know that he has wanted me since he found out that there could be a chance of me coming back here. I’ve overcome my injury and I’m ready to kick on now.”

The midfielder joined the Anfield side in 2009 when he was only 14 and was released by the club after nine years.
