Arsenal legend Martin Keown has revealed that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea shouldn’t deserve to be named in the PFA Team of the Year.
The former England centre-back has admitted that Manchester City shot-stopper Ederson Moraes is the only goalkeeper who should have been named in the team.
Martin Keown on TOTY: “The goalkeeper should be Ederson. Manchester City have won the league because they have been the best passing team.
In the way he passes the ball out from the back, Ederson is integral to everything they have achieved.” pic.twitter.com/2eUSJM3uOR

“The goalkeeper should be Ederson. Manchester City have won the league because they have been the best passing team,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“In the way, he passes the ball out from the back, Ederson is integral to everything they have achieved.
“Not only is he hitting balls cleaner than most central midfielders but he is pulling off great saves, too.
“Think back to Claudio Bravo last year who was so indecisive in goal for City.
“Of course David de Gea is an excellent goalkeeper but he goes into a game knowing that he will have to make two or three excellent saves.”

Meanwhile, De Gea is the only United player to be named in the PFA Premier League team of the year. And the Spaniard has been named as a goalkeeper in the PFA Team of the Year in five of his seven Premier League seasons, with four of them came consecutively.
