Italian expert Gabriele Marcotti has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid have already agreed between them the terms of the player’s exit.
The sports journalist has hinted that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s deal is expected to be announced in the next 48 hours.
Ronaldo has been strongly linked with his former side Manchester United but Juventus are now in pole position to secure the Portuguese’s signature.
According to reports, the Portugal captain will cost the Italian champions around €100m fee and it’s believed that his agent Jorge Mendes is negotiating his terms in Turin.
“I was sceptical from the beginning,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.
“But it’s my understand that an agreement has been reached in principle involving Real Madrid and Ronaldo.”
“Remember this was the key issue – Madrid are happy to let him go, on principle.”
“Ronaldo is happy to go, on principle. Ronaldo agreeing terms with Juventus, on principle.”
“But the key issue was going to be the terms of his departure, whether Ronaldo was going to come out and explain why he was moving on.”
“It’s my understanding that they’ve all agreed how they’re going to do this. And there should be developments in the next 24-48 hours.”
“So it does look at this time that he is on his way to Turin.”
The 33-year-old joined Santiago Bernabeu side in 2009 from Man United and has helped Los Blancos to win 15 trophies including two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.
