Rashford made his third domestic final with Manchester United this weekend after coming off the bench in the 2-1 win over Tottenham; he now received a shirt from Ronaldo with the message: “To Marcus, keep up the good work”.

Ronaldo Urges Rashford to maintain his “good work”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is busy preparing for a Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich in Germany but he made sure Rashford received the good wishes and jersey.

Rashford received a pair of red Nike Air Max 97 CR7 trainers earlier this month from the Portuguese and is now able to toast FA Cup semi-final success over Tottenham on Saturday with his personally signed Madrid shirt.

Speaking to the Telegraph last year, Rashford said of Ronaldo: “I used to watch a lot of him growing up, all of his games. He was a top player who won a lot of things in his career, so when you know he’s saying good things about you then it really stands out.

“I watched all those clips on YouTube and the first-ever game that I saw live, he was playing in it. It was at Old Trafford and I always remember it. It was in 2003. He scored a hat-trick.”

Ronaldo, on the other side,Β is gearing up for a huge end to the season, making sure he reaches yet another Champions League final. He has 15 goals already in the tournament this season and is targeting a third straight Champions League title.
