Former Real Madrid defender Christian Panucci has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be successful at Juventus but will regret to leave the La Liga giants.

Ronaldo has joined Juventus on 10 July signing a four-year contract with Italian champions after completing a £105m transfer.

Former Italy international Panucci has been at Santiago Bernabeu between 1996 and 1999 before moving to Inter Milan.

Panucci, who won four trophies with Los Blancos before his departure, has admitted that he always regret the decision to leave the Madrid side.

Therefore, the current Albania national team believes Portuguese superstar Ronaldo may experience similar regrets.

Panucci told Spanish radio station El Partidazo de COPE: “When I left Madrid I was convinced. I wanted to leave Madrid and it was the biggest foolishness of my sports career, and I regret it now.”

“Cristiano is going to win because he is too good a player not to do it. It’s normal madness for Cristiano, he’s the best in the world.”

“He’s a very smart signing who is going to give other great players a push to come to Italy. Being a champion is in his blood.”

Panucci, who made his senior Italy debut on 7 September 1994, scored four times in 57 appearances for the National Team.
