Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has openly told Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona and join him in Serie A.

Ronaldo and Messi have been arch-rivals in La Liga for a decade before the former Manchester United star quit Real Madrid for Juventus during the summer transfer window.

Messi has continued his career at Barcelona, while the Portuguese superstar has decided to join the Serie A side for a new challenge.

The 33-year-old left Real Madrid after nine years at the club and he now looks good for the Serie A title this season.

On the Argentina international, Ronaldo told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Messi? Maybe it’s him who misses me.”

“I’ve played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal and for my national team, while he’s still in Spain.”

“Maybe he needs me more? For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy.”

“I’d like him to come to Italy one day. I hope he accepts the challenge like me, but if he’s happy there then I respect that.”

“He’s a fantastic player and a good guy, but I don’t miss anything here. This is my new life and I’m happy.”

Ronaldo has managed to score 10 goals from 15 Serie A games so far this season while Messi has now scored 11 times in 13 La Liga appearances.
