Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the Santiago Bernabeu one day.

Ronaldo has shockingly joined the Italian champions Juventus during the summer transfer ending his nine-year spell at La Liga giants.

The former Manchester United star, who cost the Bianconeri £88.8m transfer fee, has scored three times and one assist in five games so far.

The 33-year-old penned a four-year deal in Turin, but Perez, who allowed him to leave, believes that the Portuguese star will return to Madrid side.

“Cristiano has remained in the hearts of all the Madrid fans,” Perez told El Chiringuito at FIFA’s The Best award.

“If I saw him today I would have embraced him, he is the worthy successor of Di Stefano.”

“One day he will return to Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo, who officially signed for The Old Lady on 10 July, has written an open letter to Los Blancos fans following his departure.

Ronaldo wrote: “These years in Real Madrid, and in this city of Madrid, have been possibly the happiest of my life.”

“I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this hobby and for this city.”

“I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received.”

“However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept transferring me.”

“I feel that way and I ask everyone, and especially our followers, to please understand me.”

Ronaldo, who won four Champions League trophies, including three in a row with Madrid is the all-time top scorer for the Spanish giants.
