Inter Milan Director Guiseppe Marotta has Confirmed that Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request as the winger wants to join Arsenal ahead of transfer deadline this month.

The Croatia international has been strongly linked with Manchester United in recent years but now the winger in Arsenal top target.

The 29-year-old, who is looking to attempt to push through Emirates move this month, was an unused substitute as Inter lost 1-0 to Torino on Sunday.

Inter director Guiseppe Marotta told Sky in Italy: “Perisic has asked to leave but there is no offer for him. We will see in the coming days.”

“We will listen to the request of Perisic, he has put in a transfer request, we must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him.”

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is looking to reinforce his attacking line with Danny Welbeck set to serve an extended time on the sidelines with an injury problem.

Earlier this week, Inter Milan boss Luciano Spaletti has recently revealed his verdict on Perisic potential move.

“Perisic is a very good player, of course, there’s rumours about him during the transfer window,” Spalletti said in a press conference.

“If a player is good, it’s obvious that every club would want him. Of course, then the figures must be adequate for things to go through.

“He knows his job and he also knows that we expect him to keep working just like he has done so far.”

Perisic joined the San Siro side from VfL Wolfsburg in 2015 and has since scored 34 goals in 140 appearances.

The former Borussia Dortmund star, who made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League, will reportedly cost the Gunners £34.5m.
