Chelsea will reportedly look to bid £70m for Real Madrid playmaker Isco in January; with Arsenal and Man City also said to be interested with his signature.

The Spanish international has had a difficult season thus far; scoring just four goals while creating one assist in 17 appearances in all competitions.

From Julen Lopetegui to Santiago Solari; the 26 year-old hasn’t been able to discover his best form on a consistent basis, even after the summer departure of Cristiano Ronaldo which was expected to give him room to show what he can do.

With that in mind; perhaps Real Madrid could be open to a sale in order to use the funds to strengthen their attacking options; and according to The Sun Chelsea are set to make a £70m bid for Isco in January while they are expected to offer around £250,000-a-week to reach an agreement on personal terms.

That’s a heavy investment and so Maurizio Sarri will need to be sure that Isco is the right man their need.

Given the Italian manager’s preferred style of play; having technically talented individuals in his side to retain possession and dictate the tempo of the game is crucial. Isco is able to do that, and so it could be argued that he may well be a perfect match for the Chelsea boss.

It is also reported that both Arsenal and City have shown an interest in Isco’s signature; but the former have yet to make a formal bid while the latter want to wait until the summer. With that in mind; January is the best time for Chelsea to steal a march on their rivals and land the Spaniard.
