Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has urged manager Maurizio Sarri to sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
Manchester United also said to be interested in the English forward’s signature but Cundy believes Wilson would be the perfect signing for Chelsea.
“It’s still early days but he’s starting to reach the same sort of levels even if it’s only ten games where he is now starting to score the sort of goals that will start to catch the eye,” Cundy said on talkSPORT.
“So the question is who will look to sign him in January before his stock rises to a ridiculous level?”
“I’m looking at my club, Chelsea. We’ve got two No.9’s in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud. Neither of them is holding down a regular spot.”
“And I think with the way Chelsea are playing under Maurizio Sarri, Callum Wilson would be perfect for Chelsea, perfect.”
“Then you think about Manchester United. Wilson is 26-years-old and is coming into the best days of his career. Could United sign him as back-up to (Romelu) Lukaku?”
“I think there are a number of big clubs who should be looking at Wilson.”
Wilson, 26, joined Bournemouth in 2014 from Coventry City and has since gone on to score 45 goals in 121 appearances.
