Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred has made it clear that he told his club he wants to go abroad as he is looking to make a bigger leap in his career.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and City are both poised to do battle this summer the Brazilian midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain has recently entered the race for Fred’s signature as Man City believed to have dropped out of the deal.

“I made it clear to the club that I was very happy here but I want to make a bigger leap in my career,” the 25-year-old told SporTV.

“There are other clubs interested in England and France. I want to make a bigger leap, I made it clear to the club.”

“Now I just have to wait to get through the World Cup and see which is the best destination.”

“I think I have to change a little, I have dreams of playing in major clubs in Europe. I made it clear that it’s my moment.”

“The club are reluctant to release [me]. I have a contract until 2021. As soon as I come back from the World Cup we will sit down, talk and look at the options.”

The defensive midfielder has made 37 appearances, scoring 4 times for the Ukrainian side this season.

Brazil international, who is set to feature the 2018 World Cup in Russia, boasts 7 caps for his national team.
