Brazil fitness coach Fabio Mahseredjian has given an injury updates before the team flies to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since 25 February the day he picked up a foot injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 home win over Marseille.

However, according to Neymar’s coach and doctor, the former Barcelona star trains every day and his progress is better than expected.

“Neymar is recovering better than expected,” Mahseredjian revealed.

”Until the start of the World Cup, he’ll be training with the group for another month.”

“He’ll be ready, he’s already training with the ball, dribbling and now we’re going to try and advance his process.”

Asked if Neymar will play Brazil’s two friendly matches against Croatia and Austria before the World Cup, the coach refused to comment on the question.

“I can’t comment on the expectation that he’ll participate in those matches,” he admitted.

“He plays at a very high level and he can do unique things to help us. However, we don’t know how much more time he’ll need.”

Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, said: “He’s regaining his usual movements bit by bit.”

“The next step is full group training and then play games. Everything is being done for him to feel at ease.”

The Selecao will take on Switzerland in the opening match of the World Cup on 17.
