Football clubs are spending a lot of money in recent years trying to sign the perfect players. This trend is killing academies across Europe. Barcelona, for example, is not promoting La Masia kids as they did in the 1990s and early 2000. They are signing expensive youngsters. Today, we want to look at six best academies in Europe today by the number of players playing in five best Leagues according to CIES Football Observatory Report.

Paris Saint-Germain has spent a lot of money signing stars like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler among others. However, the club academy is also producing top talents in recent years. The Ligue 1 current leaders and defending Champions can boast of 24 players enjoying the game in top five European leagues. FC Rennes also has the same number.
5.Man United- 24 Players

Manchester United academy has always produced great players. Class of 92 is a good example but former Coach Matt Busby also did the same in the 1950s and 60s. Today, the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford are products of the club youth system. Others include Michael Keane at Everton, Danny Drinkwater at Chelsea, Danny Welbeck at Arsenal among many others. The club currently leads in England with 24 graduates playing for clubs in the top five leagues in Europe.

Athletic Bilbao only allows players from the autonomous Basque country to play for the first team. This means the club academy has to produce the very best every year to feed the first team. Today, the La Liga club has a total of 26 graduates playing for different clubs in Europe top five leagues.
