Manchester United best player in Premier League era is no doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese helped the club lift a number of titles among them UEFA Champions League in 2007/08 season. He netted 42 goals in all competitions that year. It is the same year he received Premier League and European Golden Boots as well as the coveted Ballon d’Or award.

However, when it comes to goals in his first season in 2003/04 when he arrived from Sporting Lisbon. Romelu Lukaku has done much better than him. CR7 netted only 6 goals in his first year in England, 9 in the second season and only 12 in the third year. The Belgian has netted 27 in his first year in United colors.

4. Andy Cole – 12 Goals in First Season

Andy Cole was a goal machine during his days at Newcastle United and Manchester United. When he signed for the Red Devils in 1994/95 season he netted 12 times in 18 matches. In 1995/96 season he had a full season but he only scored 13 goals in 42 matches. Romelu Lukaku has so far netted 27 times in 48 matches in all competitions.

3. Dimitar Berbatov – 14 Goals in First Season

Dimitar Berbatov scored 23 goals per season in his two years at Tottenham Hotspur. Sir Alex Ferguson had seen enough. He decided to sign the Bulgarian striker in 2008 for Β£30.75 million. The forward did not deliver the numbers the Scott was hoping for. He only scored 14 times in 43 matches. In fact, his best season was in 2010/11 when he scored 21 goals. Lukaku has already beaten that by far in his first season.
