Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has signed a new long-term contract with the North London side following his impression in the pre-season campaign this summer.

Smith Rowe, who signed the first professional deal with the club one year ago, has managed to score one goal and assist in two appearances during this summer.

The attacking midfielder, who turned 18 last weekend, was part of England’s FIFA U-17 World Cup winning squad in India last year.

“To be honest it feels great for me,” Smith Rowe told the club’s official website.

“It’s something I’ve always dreamt of since I was young, so to sign a new contract with Arsenal… I’m just so happy and it feels surreal at the moment.”

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has also praised the youngster after his remarkable display during this summer’s pre-season tournament.

“I am pleased with Emile’s contribution so far this pre-season,” Emery said.

“He is working very hard and has lots of potentials. I look forward to working with him and the other young players and helping them to develop as Arsenal players.”

The English teenager, who joined Arsenal aged 10, has the ability to unlock defences and assist team-mates as well as scoring incredible goals.
