The Chilean did not appear in any of United’s final six fixtures under Mourinho due to a niggling issue that has forced him to return to South America for recuperation.
As reported by The Sun, the 30 year-old revelled in his manager’s demise and even profited from his dismissal.
Sanchez is said to have sent a WhatsApp message to his teammates reading: “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k!’.”
The former Arsenal man was pictured riding a horse back home this week, despite being asked to rest so that he can return to action early in January.
