Jorginho agreed to join Premier League champions Manchester City before making shock decision to move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, according to player’s agent Joao Santos.

Jorginho has been strongly linked with Pep Guardiola’s side this summer. But the Italian midfielder has eventually snubbed the Manchester side and decided to follow former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge.

Indeed, the 26-year-old’s agent has made it clear that the midfielder had agreed terms with the Citizens before being hijacked by the Blues.

“It was all done with Jorginho. There was an agreement, but there was no agreement between the clubs. All parties have to agree, and one did not,” Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Then Chelsea asked what the situation was after Sarri arrived and Jorginho went to London. He’s really enjoying it at Chelsea, the team is on a roll and has won four matches out of four.”

“It’s a great start. Going to Chelsea was a unique opportunity, the career of a player is very short and now we hope for the best.”

Jorginho, who joined Napoli in 2014 from Hellas Verona, has scored six times in 160 appearances for The Little Donkeys.
