Marcus Rashford is the youngest ever scorer in Manchester derby in the Premier League era. He is probably the most promising youngster in Manchester United. He is a role model to many kids. But how well do we know his story? Down are 5 details you didn’t know about the 21 year-old star.

5.He Could Have Joined Man City

Manchester United had to beat off competition from neighbours Manchester City in order to sign him and Cityzens were trying to steal him again recently. But the youngster decided to marry Red Devils.

4.He developed his talent in the same club as Danny Welbeck

Marcus Rashford grew up in the famous Fletcher Moss Junior Football Club, a club that has produced other great players like Welbeck, Wes Brown, Ravel Morrison and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

3.He started kicking the ball from the age of two

At the age of two, Rashford started playing football with his brother in the house, in the garden or in the garage.

‘I could remember my Dad insisting he takes me to join a youth club to play with boys instead of having me around kicking balls on our garage’s roof’ says Marcus.

Rashford was later encouraged to join local Fletcher Moss boys club by his dad, Robert who was a coach there. His skills impressed Man United scouts; thus forcing them to sign him at the age of 8.
