2. Toby Alderweireld – £25.4m [Tottenham Hotspur]
Belgium international defender Alderweireld is one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League today.
The 29-year-old, who joined Tottenham in 2015 from Atletico Madrid, is very solid and reliable defender.
The former Ajax star, who also had a successful loan spell at Southampton, has not made a defensive error this season.
However, having £25.4m as his release clause, the defender is seemingly underrated by the Spurs.
1. Dries Mertens – £24m [Napoli]
Napoli forward Mertens has been an unplayable striker since he moved to Stadio San Paolo in 2013 from PSV Eindhoven.
The 30-year-old bagged 34 goals in 46 appearances for the Partenopei last season; while he has managed to score 21 goals in 38 games across all competitions this season.
Mertens, who turns 31 in May, is renowned for his sharp finishing, creative passes and dribbling skills.
But when you look at the Belgium international’s release clause, you will certainly confirm that it is so ridiculous.
