2. The Champions League is probably the focus for both teams now
Barcelona have largely dominated La Liga this season. To them, the title is practically wrapped up as they are 8 points clear from the second place holders Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, Real Madrid currently sits in the third position. But their hope for the title race seems to be far far away as they are massively 15 points behind Barcelona at the top.
And they’re also 9 points ahead of 5th placed Sevilla, meaning their Champions League spot for next season is almost booked up. All these mean that both Spanish giants have one focus now, the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Ronaldo’s domestic form hasn’t been quite as impressive as usual at the beginning of this season. But Mr. CR7 has literally scored in every game Real Madrid played in the Champions League this season. On the other hand, Messi has been shining and shows no sign of slowing down. Now both football little gods have 5 Ballon d’Or. The competition between Messi and Ronaldo could be an engine to the final for both sides.
