4. Top four is Chelsea’s ambition – Gary Cahill

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has called on teammates to work hard with ambition in order to secure a top-four finish.

The Stamford Bridge side have managed a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, although they remain in fifth place.

“We had to show a lot of determination, courage and ambition today. The three points were all that mattered, no matter how we got them. They threw everything at us at the end, which made it difficult late on,” the Blues captain told BT Sport.

“Top four is the ambition. We’ve put ourselves in a difficult situation and we now have to work hard. The results haven’t gone our way since the Bournemouth game and we’re in a tough spot. We need to show the same character and ambition we did today to finish in the top four.”

3. Antonio Conte calls for repeat of first-leg display against Barcelona

Antonio Conte has urged Chelsea players to repeat their first-leg performance against Barcelona on Wednesday.

The Blues were underdogs at Stamford Bridge, but they have produced an impressive performance which gave them a 1-1 draw.

“The game will be for sure totally different, we are playing against one of the best teams in the world. We must have the same focus and attention as the first leg,” Conte told reporters.

“We played a really great game, it was almost a perfect game. It won’t be easy, we must know this. We must try the right solution – the best way sometimes is to speak with the players and try to find the right plan.”
