UEFA Champions League quarter-final list is slowly taking shape. The first four places have been taken by Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus. Next week we will know the other four teams before the draw is done. Today, we want to take a look at all-time top scorers in knock-out phases.
5. Raul Gonzalez- 18 Goals
Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez still stands tall among the greats in football. The Spaniard is a legend not only for the Los Blancos but also La Liga and Spanish football in general. The retired attacker gave everything during his time on the pitch for club and country. He is the third all-time UEFA Champions League goals scorer with 71 strikes. In the knockout phases, he netted 18 times despite the fact that he was not a striker.
4. Robert Lewandowski- 19 Goals
Poland International goal machine Robert Lewandowski needs no introduction. The Bayern Munich striker scores goals for fun for club and country. In fact, he single-handedly helped his country qualify for Russia 2018 World Cup. However, the lethal forward is two goals behind his teammate Thomas Muller when it comes to Knock-out stage goals. He has netted 19 goals but he has a chance to increase his tally when his side face Besiktas away from home next week.
3. Thomas Müller- 21 Goals
Bayern Munich playmaker Thomas Muller is back to his best after a poor spell during Carlo Ancelotti tenure. The German International is a perfect poacher who arrives in the box at the right time to punish the opponents. He is the third highest goals scorer in the knock-out phases with 21 goals. It will please him that only Messi and Ronaldo are ahead of him.
