Barcelona will host Chelsea next week on Wednesday 14 at Camp Nou Stadium in their second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
The Blaugrana managed to get a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge over two weeks ago. The Catalan side are always favourites to reach the quarter-finals.
However, they have been struck with a major injury blow with midfield maestro Andres Iniesta has suffered a hamstring injury.
The legendary player has suffered an injury during Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid last weekend.
After the game, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde said that Iniesta can’t be replaced. But who can fit in the Spaniard’s position?
Now, let’s take a look at 4 Barcelona players who could play in his position against Chelsea next week.
4. Ousmane Dembele
Dembele, who joined Barcelona last summer from Borussia Dortmund, is one of the players who can fill Iniesta’s void.
The youngster may not have the experience of the Spanish midfielder but is one of the few players at Camp Nou who has the talent to play alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
With his dribbling skills, passing accuracy, pace and his eye to goal, the Frenchman only needs the trust from boss Valverde.
3. Andre Gomes
Gomes is having a tough time at Camp Nou due to a string of poor performances. But he definitely still have Ernesto Valverde’s faith, and this match against Chelsea could be a great opportunity for him.
The Portuguese international replaced Iniesta against La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid last weekend and was a substitute at Stamford Bridge.
