TOP 3 ARSENAL NEWS – Carragher: I Was Right To Call Arsenal “COWARDS”

Kluivert Name-drops Man Utd, Barcelona, Arsenal & More; Carragher: I was right to call Arsenal “COWARDS”; Europa League could be Arsene Wenger’s only route back into the Champions League

3. Kluivert Name-drops Man Utd, Barcelona, Arsenal & More

The Ajax star continues to impress for the Amsterdam side but would be interested in a move to England or Spain in the near future. Kluivert admits he hopes to play for one of the Premier League’s top teams, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested.

“If you get a nice offer, you never know,” he told Helden.

“England appeals to me: Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United are nice clubs where I can see myself playing in a few years.” He added, “I really wanted to go to Barcelona instead of Real Madrid. Barcelona is in my heart, but who am I to say no to Real Madrid?”

2. Carragher: I was right to call Arsenal “COWARDS”

Arsenal’s north London derby defeat to Tottenham at Wembley left them seven points off the top four. Carragher has been critical of the mentality of Arsenal’s players for some time now and described their away statistics as “embarrassing”.

“If you go back to Crystal Palace last season, I called them “cowards” and sometimes when you look back you can think it’s a bit strong. But those (away form) stats back me up.” said Carragher on Monday Night Football.

“Twenty-six points from 26 away games is an embarrassment for a team that are supposedly one of the top teams in the country.” Arsenal are now seven points behind Tottenham in fifth and Carragher admitted: “I think (top four) is virtually impossible for them.”

1. Arsenal must win the Europa League this season: top four seem impossible

Fourth spot in the Premier League now looks impossible for Wenger. Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Spurs pretty much ended any hopes. And for him to win the final in Lyon on May 16 could still be one hell of a task; when you look at the teams competing. But it is his only hope.

Though a win over Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final in 12 days wouldn’t hurt; the competition they really MUST win is the Europa League. This could be Arsene Wenger’s only route back into the Champions League.
