Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. This was the only business Jose Mourinho did in the January transfer window. However, last summer he splashed £75million to sign striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton and £40m to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. The signing pushed the money needed to assemble the current squad to £661 Million.
2. PSG- £713 Million
French giants PSG was not busy in the January transfer window. They sold Lucas Moura to Tottenham Hotspurs as they continue to offload squad players. However, they remain the most daring club in the World after splashing £198m to sign Barcelona superstar Neymar last summer. The signing took the spending spree to £713 Million. Manchester City only managed to overtake them in January but who knows who they will sign next summer.

Manchester City spending spree continued in the just concluded January transfer window. The Premier League leaders splashed £57m to sign centre-back Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao. The signing takes the squad value to £777million. The team is now the most expensive squads in Europe today.
