Last week was an eventful week for the NBA fans as a lot of things happened. LeBron James became the youngest player to reach the 30k milestone in the history. It was also a sad week due to injuries. DeMarcus Cousins suffered a season-ending fatal Achilles injury. On the other hand, All-Star teams were selected and hopefully, next month will surely be epic. While Embiid and Westbrook were going against each other, the Warriors also faced the Celtics. Without talking a lot, let us go through the NBA team of the week:
Westbrook was a pure dragon over the last week. Russell Westbrook is now on the top of the NBA total point leaders through the week15 with 1286 point, two points ahead of LeBron. With King James cooling down and Harden going through injuries in between, Westbrook is now one of the front-runners in the MVP conversations.
First name ‘Steph‘, last name ‘Curry‘. Chef Curry had a very strong week thanks to his shooting abilities. Over the last week, he averaged 35.3 points per game, shooting 60% and among which 57% was from threes. He helped the Warriors beat the unstoppable Celtics. If Curry continues on this pace, he will be among the MVP contenders despite Durant being in his team.
Guess who’s back in the team? King James himself! This was probably LeBron James’ week, despite the Cavs losing. He was in the news all over the world as he became the youngest player to get to 30k regular season points. He is in the top three in the MVP conversation right now and would want to finish strong before the all-star break. This week will be amazing as the Cavs will host Houston Rockets.
Despite playing only two games in the whole week, Antetokounmpo still makes the team of the week. In the two games, the Greek ace was unstoppable after coming back from a knee injury. He averaged 34 points, 11 rebounds, 7.5 assists per game with 64 % of his shoot. Giannis Antetokounmpo is another name that keeps coming back when they are talking about MVP contenders this year.
DeMarcus Cousins had an unbelievable week! He put up a CRAZY stat-line against Chicago in a double overtime game, scoring 44 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals on 45% shooting, 46% from threes. The last time something like this happened was done by Kareem Abdul Jabbar in 1972. Sadly, Cousins suffered a season-ending injury later during their win against the Rockets. Boogie is the best player in the NBA right now who has NEVER reached the playoffs even once.
