Sokkaa has recently launched its’s SokkaaStars Fantasy Football game and people with managerial skills around the world are loving it so far. Last weekend was unique in one way or another. There were no Premier League games. But SokkaaStars took no break as Spanish La Liga, Germany Bundesliga, France’s Ligue 1, and Italian Serie A ran the show. Player set records, and so on. All in all, based on the points they collected, here are the top 5 best performers of the week SokkaaStars.
Last Sunday was a bit tough for the Catalans as they had to wait until the 84th minute to record a victory. Suarez and Messi struck late goals as Barcelona came from behind, collecting 16 points in SokkaaStars for both. Messi netted his 21st career direct free-kick in La Liga play on Sunday, giving his side a late 2-1 victory against Alaves. This free-kick gave the Argentine international the advantage over Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga free-kick goals. This march marked another milestone for the 30-year-old, who made his 200th career Liga appearance at the Camp Nou. Messi has notched a remarkable 211 goals and 74 assists in those 200 appearances.
This weekend was unforgettable for Edinson Cavani as he broke Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s PSG record. Cavani received a commemorative gift on becoming Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer. Heading into Saturday’s clash with Montpellier, Cavani and Ibrahimovic were on the same page with 156 goals for the club. However, Cavani opened the scoring in the 4-0 win and became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 157 goals in 228 appearances.
This earned the Uruguayan 18 points in SokkaaStars, making wise managers enjoy their weekend. Cavani took off his shirt and exuberantly ran over to the fans after making this history. The referee had no choice but to book him. But what made fans happy, was that before the referee Frank Schneider showed him a yellow card, he congratulated the striker first.
Real Madrid was on fire this weekend, but what got everybody’s attention was Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration of Marcelo goal. Marcelo scored a very important goal, breaking Valencia who were threatening them to get back into the game. Cristiano celebrated Marcelo’s goal and went too far. The Portuguese forward was snapped putting his fingers on/up the arse of Marcelo, sparking endless reactions on social media. Marcelo shares the same points, 20, with Di Maria, J. Boateng, Sami Khedira, and Lewandowski who also had amazing performances for their sides. SokkaaStars players must have enjoyed the last weekend.
