Thibaut Courtois is one of the key players in Chelsea. He has often been looked at by some of the biggest clubs around Europe, especially Real Madrid. Courtois only has a contract up until the end of the 2018/19. The Blues have been trying to pin the 25-year-old down to a long-term deal.
“The most important thing is to perform well for myself and the team,” Courtois said before the Qarabag match last month. “Regarding my contract, that’s something where Chelsea must deal with my agent. I don’t think there have been any new developments. […] I prefer to focus on the team’s matches, my own performances, and there will be time enough towards the end of the season to have talks.”
Chelsea has got a massive boost in their pursuit of long-term transfer target Alex Sandro after the Brazilian told Juventus he’s unhappy in Turin, reports claim.
The Blues attempted to force through a move for the left-back in the summer but walked away with the Serie A giants refusing to drop their £80million asking price. However, Max Allegri may now be forced to offload the defender for closer to £50m after he made it clear to the club that he’s unhappy, according to the Telegraph.
Juventus bosses have accepted that he will leave the club, allowing him to seal a transfer to Stamford Bridge in January as a suitable replacement. The Italian is keen to ease the burden on Marcos Alonso who is their only better option in the position.
3. “Let’s think about the Premier League and the Cups” – Willian
After failing to lead the group, Willian wants his teammates to move from the disappointment. He admits Chelsea his teammates are unhappy but is desperate they make a final push for the title against in-form Manchester City.
“No, we are not happy. We wanted to finish first, we tried to create some chances in the second half. We have this really good team, a strong team. Our desire was to finish first. We are now second, it’s OK, so let’s think about the Premier League and the Cups.”
