1. Ronaldo BREAKS yet another Champions League record
Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in UEFA Champions League history to score in all six Group matches. The 32-year-old netted last night against Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. The goal pushed his tally this season to nine in the competition alone. The match ended 3-2 in favor of his side Real Madrid who finished second in the Group behind Tottenham Hotspurs.
The Premier League side netted three times against APOEL Nicosia to finish top of their group with 16 points. Son double and Llorente strike was enough to get the London side back to winning ways. They will hope the victory can inspire their stuttering League campaign.
CR7 is also the favorite to lift 2017 Ballon d’Or award on Thursday. He helped the Los Blancos lift La Liga and Champions League double last season. They also won UEFA Super Cup as well as the Spanish Super Cup. He will go level with Lionel Messi who has lifted the award five times.
